ok. so i still have two finals to go in this dreaded semester. but i can not focus. my current state can only be described by a hyperactive kid who downed 10 cans of his red bull followed by a Costco pack of Warheads jumping on your bed waking you up on Christmas day yelling "WHERE ARE MY PRESENTS!"

im wired!

BUT there is no way can not focus my efforts on this school work. im too busy picturing life after school because school is NOT the place to be. to be quite honest, the lifestyle of a college student is unrealistic. i mean sleepless nights, a diet consisting of 100% poop, and stress levels that would make even Ghandi want to off himself? except for maybe Kurt Cobaine, i dont know anyone who has ever lived like that in real life! and thats just skimming a few things off the top.

see in my mind, im already sitting out on some beach out in Bora Bora in an all white Diddy-esque ensemble looking back like "dam i remember when i would stay up all night focusing on foolishness in college"

you might say im dreaming big. i say im trying to do well.

all i know is that when that moment comes (and trust me, it will come) this will be my theme music. i dont even need a sound system. give me a Nextel i860 and im good to go! wait what?

But while im still here sitting in this library next to this overtly nosy man and his decent looking female companion i do see the importance of taking things day by day. focusing on what is in front of you. what is current. i want nothing more than to build the bridge that will get me over to where i want to be. 

This is why im glad the semester is OVER. Winter break, what up! i can finally shift my focus from school back to the projects and concepts i have put on pause for far too long.

They say actions speak louder than words. so i'll stop here and soon time you will be introduced to my work along with the work of the big homies over at 2egit, Sole High Society, TMM and Doobie Set.

Maestro Knows releases Infinity Piece at CommonWealth

CommonWealth hosts the second release of Levi Maestro's Infinity Piece (in black) this Friday, December 16th at noon, which is tomorrow people!

its about that time to head back to school. its such a bittersweet feeling. the fact that summer is really coming to an end is terrible. waking up to lazy afternoons of eating breakfast around 4pm are no more. now its back to the books.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

There are many things i could say about this album. How its been a diamond in the rough, labeled a classic by most, and how influential Pete Rock has been in shaping production and sampling within the industry... but i wont.

1994 was a tough year to shine in New York. Being the same year Illmatic, and Ready to Die dropped, its easy to see how many would over look this album. In their final project together, the duo, widely known for their 1992 hit T.R.O.Y., compiles a smooth array of jazzy / soulful melodies and lyrics that result in nothing short of a classic (containing some of their best work) & have many fans consistently bumping this album in rotation to this very day. Its definitely one of those albums you can sit back and listen to in its entirety.
